You know what's great about Encaustics? Its' versatility!! This art medium can be the jumping off point for endless possibilities. Join along with us as we learn the ancient technique of encaustic. We will be using pigmented beeswax medium and leave the class with a number of completed art pieces. Even the very basic techniques create beautiful works.
In class we will cover: Basic knowledge of encaustic, history & safety as well as; 1 intro project to learn basic techniques 1 project to learn image transfer 1 project to learn collage/texturing/excavating back and filling in with color 1 project to do a shellac burn on 1 project learning how to use encaustic for mono printing
