This July, young artists in the making gathered to embark on an unforgettable creative journey at the Kids Art Camp led by Ashley Ellis. With both morning and afternoon sessions available, this four-day adventure proved to be an ideal blend of artistic education and pure fun. Let's dive into the colorful world of imagination and artistry that unfolded during this inspiring camp. Two Sessions, Four Days of Artistic Exploration Parents and kids had the option to choose between a morning session, held from Monday to Thursday, starting at 9 am and ending at 11:30 am. For those craving even more artistic exploration, there was the opportunity to add an afternoon session for a $20 savings. The camp welcomed young artists aged 6 to 13, ensuring that children of various age groups could find their creative spark.
Morning Session: Unleashing the Creativity Bug During the morning session, young artists delved into the world of art, experimenting with various mediums and techniques. Guided by Ashley Ellis, an educator and artist, each camper embarked on a journey to create a diverse portfolio of art pieces. From canvas acrylic painting to the mesmerizing world of resin art, monoprinting, and cyanotype, the young artists explored different facets of artistic expression. This session not only allowed them to create stunning artworks but also nurtured their problem-solving skills and self-esteem.
Afternoon Session: Diving Deeper into the Artistic Ocean
In the afternoon session, young artists refined their skills and expanded their horizons. The creative journey ventured into the world of alcohol ink, watercolor painting, oven-baked clay sculpture, and mixed media with wood substrate. With every project, these budding artists were encouraged to let their imagination run wild, resulting in a diverse and captivating body of work.
The Importance of Recommended Art
Supplies One crucial aspect of the Kids Art Camp was the emphasis on having the right tools for the creative process. The camp recommended bringing a snack, lunch (for those participating in both sessions), and a water bottle to keep young artists fueled and hydrated throughout the day. Additionally, each camper needed a 9" x 12" sketchbook, available for purchase at checkout for $10. These sketchbooks served as a canvas for their ideas, a place to sketch daily prompts, and a keepsake of their artistic journey. In consideration of campers with allergies, it was requested to avoid packing any nuts, in any form, to ensure everyone's safety.
